djmaze writes "When your using a browser you like (like Mozilla or Opera) instead of the Micro$oft IE (which you need to patch each week) you can have trouble on some websites.
Those websites say things like: Warning your not using IE and our website is optimized for IE.
or: Your can't view this website thru a other browser then IE
Here's the solution if you still wanna browse over such a lozer website:
http://chrispederick.myacen.com/work/firefox/useragentswitcher/
This nifty plugin allows you to "fake" IE so that websites don't have a clue and you still can see the pages.
If the webpagemaker thinks he can build a ActiveX website with ad-ware or any kind of other shit, your still safe "

Re: Annoying IE websites (Score: 1) by SShowron on Sunday, April 25 @ 18:47:29 CEST (User Info | Send a Message) http://www.e-devstudio.com | Nice, but one thing:
I think personal opinions should be kept out of news posts.
And that when referring to a company, regardless if you like them or not: Write their name properly.
I don't want to start a flame war, but people should use common sence.
Sorry for the post, but I just sick of seeing this kind of stuff all over the net.
Bye, and have a nice day (with whatever browser you enjoy using) |

Re: Annoying IE websites (Score: 1) by TrevorS on Monday, April 26 @ 10:53:21 CEST (User Info | Send a Message) http://www.trevor.net | You know, I actually like Internet Explorer. Of course it will not work on my Linux box, but for my Windows box, there is nothing else I would rather use. I love how easy it is to set up filtration rules in Outlook Express, and I like the additional toolbars, like the one Google puts out. I do have Netscape and Opera installed for work-to-browser comparison reasons, but my day-to-day browser is, and probably will continue to be, Internet Explorer.
And my shameless plug : http://www.iespell.com/ This little tool will spell check your forms. A very nice thing to have. |
