Re: ProjectXERO 1.0.0 RC1 has been released (Score: 1) by TrevorS on Friday, September 10 @ 10:59:32 CEST (User Info | Send a Message) http://www.trevor.net | | This is just a question and is not meant to be a slam in any way. I'm just wondering what makes ProjectXERO any different, or better, than PHP-Nuke? I spent some time at ProjectXERO and it looks just like PHP-Nuke. |

I've downloaded the code, poked around a bit, and insalled it to my testing server. The user-to-admin bridge was a very nice move. Same with the install file. I had the site up and running in less than 4 minutes (serious). The admin control panel is also noticable enhancement. It is similar to 7.5, but incorporates greater control over a few areas that needed focused on. User management is much better by leaps and bounds.
You have done some pretty good work here. The file I picked over the most was mainfile + required includes. The code i*is* significantly defferent than PHP-Nukes.
If I hadn't been working on enhancing my own version of PHP-Nuke 7.5 for an upcomming project, I'd probably give your system a better look. As it is, I've spent too many hours hacking the nuke core, adding features, etc... to go back now. Foe someone that is just getting into nuke, I'd recommend the ProjectXERO package as set-up is so much easier than a standard Nuke install.
Hopefully the mod creators will jump on your project and expand the options. Speaking of mods, are PHP-Nuke version 6.x mods able to interface ProjectXERO without too much hastle? |

About the looks yes i know but this is just a sample for people to see what we were working so they can support our efforts :)
We need as much help as we can, since this is a team effort we are looking for people's feedback, maybe YOU can work with us for a better CMS. |

Re: ProjectXERO 1.0.0 RC1 has been released (Score: 1) by TrevorS on Friday, September 10 @ 14:10:56 CEST (User Info | Send a Message) http://www.trevor.net | I started hacking together the AtomicBlog a while back. It's meant to be a total replacement for the Journal system. ZX and everybody really helped secure it up, but the fact is, I was learning PHP when I wrote the original module. It's age is showing. NukeBlog got too big. It went from an enhanced journal system to a journal system, personal calendar/reminder, and address book. Because I am still shoddy at the whole date, timestamp, and timezone functions, I got in over my head. Once I get those figured out, NukeBlog will probably get split into different mods or finished as one mod.
As for helping out, PM or e-mail me at trevor@trevor.net and we will talk. My time is short as I have three big projects + my day-to-day job rolling out by the beginning of next year. |
