I am a complete newbie and am getting confused.

I can't work out how to get to config, do you need to download a ftp browser?

I have looked at a few explanations and i'm still confused.

Or do you know a server which installs it/has it pre-installed and hosts for free?

Not sure of a host that hosts and installs it for free, there are however hosts that offer one click installation of scripts for a fee.

The config.php is a file located in the root directory of the phpNuke package you downloaded. Just open it and fill in the details as required using a text editor (eg wordpad) and save it.

You'll then need a FTP Program to upload all the files to your host. That's it! Very Happy

Check this out for a very easy to follow guide:

I still can't find it, I download it but can't find it, this is what I do from after clicking download.

I choose open(not download), unzip it in winzip, look for config.php, and can't find it. Confused
Do I need to actually download it? Confused

I am trying to use 6.5, that wont work, so I try the latest one and that didn't work I only found a file ending in .tar.
Do I need to get a untar program, if so do you no one I can download for free?

A link to one you know has config in it would be nice.

All computers seem to hate me at the moment... First a PS2 gives my friend an amazing advantage, then it won't let me log into MyPHPAdmin... Crying or Very sad Evil or Very Mad Crying or Very sad

WHY!?!

Do you have a copy of Nuke on your computer that you are keeping as a backup?

Open the folders until you get to html folder, open that folder. There will be a number of other folders and files within the html directory.

Config.php is one of those files.

Open config.php make your changes so they reflect your database, upload it to your site within the same directory structure.

So if you want your site to open with Nuke when you go to yoursite.com then ONLY upload the contents of the html folder to your public directory on the server. If you want it to be yoursite.com/html then your upload should also include the html dir. Make sure you keep the directory structure.

Then point your browser to yoursite.com/admin.php or yoursite.com/html/admin.php etc however long the path may be to configure your site.
