I would like to be able to move images one on right then one on left so it shows that way on my main page...

okay, it appears that you have an image that you put into the news body when you create the story, and you aren't assigning images to the news topics?

i'm just guessing here, that's what it looked like on your site. if you want to get rid of the image box, either associate a blank.gif image with the topics, or associate the proper images with the topics, so that there is no longer a broken image (in admin, click on Topics, then click on a topic to modify -> select a picture)

btw, looked like you weren't *using* topics when you posted, but i could be wrong... please correct me if i am

if you'd rather continue like you already are, and not assign images to the topic categories, and you still want to remove the broken image, then like i said, either use the blank.gif idea, or hack your news/stories module

I put in a blank image and that took care of the issue , but is there a forum Icould read (as dumb as it sounds) that would explain the right way to do the stories so I dont have to mess with a blank.gif file and for the future I could do it right ???
Thank you for your help ..

okay, here's a little mini-howto for you

upload your topic images to the images/topics folder (you already know that, i believe)

go into the Nuke admin panel, click on Topics. type a topic name and topic text according to the examples, then select the appropriate 'topic image' from the dropdown box

to edit a topic, click on the Topics, then click on the topic image, that will bring up the specifics about that topic (name, name text, image, related links, etc)

when you post a news article, below the Title, select the topic from the dropdown list. that will auto-place your topic image with the topic that you assigned it to Wink

that's an issue with your theme, most themes have the topic image in the main page layout, so you'd have to edit the way your theme displays stories (theme.php)

Got ya ..
Thanks
now when i create a new topic and the image is shown (after topic is created) if you click on that topic image it asks:
Add Related Links:
Site Name:
URL:
Active Related Links:
There are no related links for this topic
what is this for ???

say, you have a topic called PHP-Nuke

the related links would be: http://phpnuke.org http://nukecops.com http://www.nukeresources.com

etc etc

that way, if a user is viewing a news post in that topic, the links will show up to the right, so they can explore that topic more

so just put related urls in the URL field, and it should show up in the active related links

np

btw, one suggestion is to get another theme, and compare the theme.php files.. try to figure out the functions that control the story display, and then compare what the 2 themes do differently (if you can find the differences, then you can learn what you need to change)

btw, i like your theme, so if you got the topic image working in the news display, that would be cool

Wink
