Hello,

Just recently out of nowhere (No changes on the site have been done)
that I know of.

And suddenly My Site Visitors block is not showing the users online. Also When i turn on error reporting I get the following error:

Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/rendervisions/web/includes/sql_layer.php on line 341

Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/rendervisions/web/includes/sql_layer.php on line 237

Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/rendervisions/web/includes/sql_layer.php on line 341

Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/rendervisions/web/includes/sql_layer.php on line 237

Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/rendervisions/web/includes/sql_layer.php on line 237

The block im reffering to is the same one used here at Nuke Cops. It can
be downloaded here:
http://nukecops.com/downloads-file-159-details-block-Site_Visitors.html

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I have a feeling your PHP/MySQL got updated and there may be some depricated mysql calls in your code.

for the error around line 237, look in the sql_layer file and see if "mysql_num_rows" or "mysql_numrows" is being used. If "mysql_numrows" is being used, replace it with "mysql_num_rows".

for the error around line 341, look in the sql_layer file and see if "mysql_fetch_array" or "mysql_fetch_assoc" is being used. If "mysql_fetch_array" is being used, replace it with "mysql_fetch_assoc".

....but I may be wrong.....

Hmm I thought you were on to it but I tried what you said and I got the following error instead:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function sql_fetch_assoc() in /home/rendervisions/web/blocks/block-Site_Visitors.php on line 58

Oh Versions:
Mysql 4.1.20
PHP 5.0.4

Any ideas?

Thanks again

Smile

I did not mean for you to change the function name, only the "mysql_fetch_array" inside the function. AND....make the changes only in the sql_layer.php file

Smile

...and I may not be on to something... but maybe.... lol

It's a generic error meaning that a query has failed.
I don't know why though.. you'd have to debug the block code.

You should have lines that use
Code:

sql_query("QUERY HERE", $dbi);

Echo out the query statement, run them in phpMyAdmin and see if they work. If they don't, phpMyAdmin may give you some messages on how to correct the query

Hmmm I dont think I have the foggiest which Query is causing the error.. Or why its suddenly doing it.

If it is a Sql update I cant be the only one having this problem right?

The User visitor is Nukecops own:
http://nukecops.com/downloads-file-159-details-block-Site_Visitors.html

is anyone else having this issue too?
