BBCode seems to be malfunctioning on my boards.

[img] and [quote] tags are not behaving.

BB code is enabled in the post

Find one of the posts in your database (look on your forum, find a post with this problem, remember the post number, go to your database with eg: phpmyadmin, go to the bb_posts_text table, search for a post with that post id).

Look in the post text field, do the BBCodes in the post look like this:

Code:
[b:BDUY6382BCD]some text blah[/b:BDUY6382BCD]

ie: with the extra : and "rubbish" after it? If they do, make sure this text is the same as the bbcodeuid in the same table row.

If they don't then you know the bbcode isn't being parsed properly.

Check this and post back.

i checked this, seems the other tags ARE showing the random hash @ the end of the tag, but img and quote are not

the ones showing it all display the same code as in the bbcodeuid table

img and quote don't display a code at all.

There you go then. That's your problem, but how to solve it is a little more tricky. I don't know what generates the junk, or what its use is, but I think it's something in the includes/functions_posting.php file. It might not be though, there might be a completely separate bbcode generation file.

yea, but that didn't seem to work for all images, the code is still not parsing in all signatures

i'm rolling back my version as i'm not liking some of the side effects that 8 is giving me

I've been fighting with this issue for a few weeks now and I finally know how to work around it (though not how to fix it for members or why it happens).

On our site (link below) there's two ways to update your signature. One, through "Your Account" on the sidebar does NOT work. It throws the [img] tags out without that identifier. On the top of the forum pages, there is a "profile" link that allows you to edit your signature. That method DOES save the identifier.

I am no expert, but I'm pretty sure we have a near-standard layout (besides the skin) so I think you should be able to find two different routes to editing the signature on your site too.

This problem has been in Nuke for a while, I think. I had to write a full patch to work round it and properly enable BBCode + editor in the signature editor in the Nuke "Your Account".

Pain in the Rainbow Brite.

I was also having this problem. If you don't care about having the editor (which I don't) all you have to do is edit all of the links to point to the BB profile and there you have it. Fixed. Smile

phpnuke 8.0 graduated to the wost CMS I've ever ran. It completely disgusted me with all the code that didn't work, almost if they released it and didn't even bother to test to see if the code works. From the forum refresh rate, html/bbcode conflicts, ect.. the list goes on.

I still dont understand why phpnuke has worked so hard to integrate a third party forum, in my opinion it would be much better if they had just developed their own forum system from the start.
