I'm new to the world of PHP and I'm having problems installing a specific addon. Please bear with me if this post seems unnecessary. I've been trying to get this figured out but have ran into problems. The version of PHP Nuke I'm using is 7.4 as that was all that was available from my site host. The addon is Sommaire v2.1. I read the readme file in the main directory for the installation and where to copy the files.

After copying the files I went into my Admin Panel and there is a new icon there for Sommaire, however, when I click on it, there is no options to select. I do not see Sommaire listed in the Modules section nor do I see it in the Blocks-Add New Block section (even checked under the filename dropdown menu).

I think maybe the directions of where to copy the files is where I got lost. I would really appreciate it if someone would take the time to let me know where the files need to go exactly. After unzipping it contains the following directory structure:

Once again, I would really appreciate someone explaining where each file needs to go. I think once I get past this issue I should be good to go...

hi,

you have to unzip only the content of /html/ directory (+subdirectories) into your website.

-> the file install-sommairev21.php have to be at your website's root, ie. with index.php, modules.php, mainfile.php etc...
-> the /admin/ directory contains new files to add into your /admin/ directory. the same for /blocks/ and /images/

if you see Sommaire icon in your phpnuke admin panel, the you have uploaded your files correctly.
(just check that you have the file block-Sommaire.php into your /blocks/ directory)
then, launch the install script, by entering in your browser :
http://YOURSITE.COM/install-sommairev21.php
and follow instructions.

Ok...I got it installed by doing that. One thing I noticed is that is does not give me an option to modify links. The main one I am worried about is for the forums. For example, in the image below, there is a category for Forums, then a sub category under that.

http://steel-erectors.com/Menu.bmp

When I click on the subcategory link, it takes me to the following address:

h**p://www.mywebsitename.com/modules.php?name=Forums

The problem with that is that my forums are located here:

h**p://www.mywebsitename.com/forums

Is there anyway to adjust that linking? The configuration page of Sommaire doesn't appear to let me do that (Notice the red blocks where linking would be)

okay, the problem is that your website doesn't have the standard php-nuke structure (ie. modules are not accessible via 'modules.php?name=MODULE_NAME').

however, you can make links with your custom url :
in the drop-down box that lists all modules, select the first entry : *External Link*

2 new boxes will appear (where the red boxes are), letting you type the url of the link, and the text to be displayed.

for example, type this :

LINK'S URL : /forums
LINK'S TEXT : Forums

notice that you don't have to type the full url (h**p://www.yourwebsitename.com/forums )

Marc
