Okay, one of these days I'm going to learn to leave well enough alone with Nuke because things like this seem to keep happening.

A few days ago I installed Sentinel 2.02 and everything worked fine.

Today I installed chatserv's 7.3 updated files and everyting worked fine except for the Sentinel Admin, where I got an error until I went back to my older main.php file.

After uploading that, I now have access to everything on my site (admin section, Your_Account, forums, etc.) but when I go to the site root, I get the good old "You can't access this file directly" message and I know that has something to do with a module, but I have no idea which one is causing it.

Help?

Addendum: I went into phpMyAdmin and disabled all modules and I still get that error message. Not sure what else to do....

Well, I finally discovered that it was the index.php file itself (from Sentinel) that was causing the problem. I replaced that with the default and now everything works.

However, I'm still not clear on what made it not work, since a few days ago when I first installed Sentinel, I did not have any problems. So if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Thanks!

Sentinel does not replace any index.php file, the only index.php files included with it are inside of 3 modules it includes and should have no effect on the rest of your site, you either downloaded Sentinel at a non official site or uploaded one of the modules' index files to the wrong location.

Oh boy do I feel like a moron now that I see what I did.

I just looked at the zip file for Sentinel again, and sure enough, I was uploading the index.php file from the manual into the root of my site. No wonder the sucker didn't work.

I need to stay away from trying to do stuff when I should be in bed.

Thanks for the response, chatserv
