How The Last Visit 5 Job Works:
Last Visit 5 is designed to run in the background as your website
receives traffic. Due to the fact that some web hosts do not allow
cron jobs, Last Visit uses your website traffic to initiate it's
cron-like processing job after a set time period. The Last Visit
job utilizes a hand-off method for processing memberships. Memberships
which are not processed during one job are passed on to the next
scheduled job. This allows the admin to define the maximum number
of memberships Last Visit processes with each job. This is a great
feature for websites with a large membership base. Since the Last
Visit job runs in the background, it should not dramatically affect
the page-load time. The server load Last Visit creates can be adjusted
through personal settings. During each Last Visit job membership
activity status is calculated, status is updated, members are notified,
members are deleted, members are marked for review, forums are swept
and resync'd, and a log is created of all actions Last Visit performs
during the processing job. The Last Visit job log is then emailed
to a defined email address.
Last Visit 5 takes the time and work out of managing your user database.
No PHP-Nuke website should be without this module! You're going
to like it!
