Site Visitors Block - Too Heavy a Resource |
|
The site visitors block that many of you have seen in operation at Nuke Cops has been found to be the real culprit behind slow page loads at high volume PHP-Nuke websites. There are hundreds of queries processed in this one block that actually causes a MySQL denial of service attack. Removal of this block has seen a highly significant increase in page generation times at Nuke Cops.
If you are running a high volume PHP-Nuke portal like Nuke Cops or Computer Cops, then try disabling the site visitors block to help our your server load performance. Credits go to Mudcrutch for keeping a sharp eye open.

Too many images and other unnecessary info that is not needed for the type of site you are operating.

I really liked that block. there has got to be a way to do all those query's in a single (or close to it) shot is there not?
just a thought. |

Also I would be interested to see if my block would slow down the site. Just out of curiosity
