Cool, I've been hearing about this mod all over and can't find it anywhere... The old download link no longer works. |

Hi everyone,
i have released a new version of MReviews, i created it on using PHP-Nuke7.6,
i dont know but it doesnt works on the future versions for example one i tried was nuke7.9.0.3.1c, it had some admin_file errors etc and some more errors maybe
anyways so my question is on What version should i create MReviews on?
you can check the working MReviews on 7.6 PHP-Nuke here:
http://www.tfpak.com/nuke76/modules.php?name=MReviews
and you can download it from our forums at:
http://thalassemia.com.pk/forums/
So the Main Point of this post is:
What version of PHP-Nuke should i use to create MReviews?
The Development of MReviews is stopped till i get an answer to the above question from PHP-Nuke community,
Thanks for Reading all this and Thanks in advance for taking the time and answering my silly question..
Best Regards,
-Salman |

Salman
again it should be based on any version of Nuke (v7.6 or higher preferrably) that has the chatserv v3.1 updates in it (chatserv v3.2 updates have also been recently released).
I believe v7.6.0.3.1 is probably the most up to date & secure version out right now. It may be a good idea to ignore v7.7 & 7.8 - and v7.9.0.3.1 seems pretty stable now to..
or maybe v7.6.0.3.2 might be better and the most up to date
That being said if you develop it for at least v7.6.0.3.1 it shouldnt have many, if any, problems working with higher versions of Nuke.
Also there are many places you can download a version of 7.6.0.3.1 within the Nuke community

If you have a version that works on 7.9 with patches, I would install it immediately. I love your module !!!!
I especially like the screenshots section in it. You should release that functionality on it's own. I'm looking already for so long to be able to include screenshots in a decent way in my news !
Keep it up

How do I install this? It says to just dump everything into the main folder where config.php is and then visit admin.php?op=mreviews but that doesn't work. Just a blank page. Doesn't something have to go in the case and links folder in the admin section? If so, do any of the files have to be renamed etc?
very confusing installation instructions. |

did you saved the directory structure while decompressing/unzipping?
if yes then all files would have gone to there respected folders automatically
check that these file exists:
nuke_root/modules/mreviews/admin/case.php
nuke_root/modules/mreviews/admin/links.php
nuke_root/modules/mreviews/admin/index.php
nuke_root/modules/mreviews/admin/language/lang-english.php
also i have no idea if it works on the previous/old or next/latest versions
i created it on Nuke 7.6, and it works fine on it..
which can be easily seen at http://www.tfpak.com/nuke76

Was wondering if anyone has a fix or an idea for an issue we have been having with the review mod.
1) When we try to add a pic for a review, when we attempt to link the image by the url, the module automatically adds the websites address infront of the given url causing the link to be incorrect.
Here is an example in case I'm confusing:
http://www.mysite.com/http://www.mysite.com/images/pic.jpg
This is what it looks like when you put the image in the actual description as html tag.
also, when you click preview, you get a pop-up that says "_MPREVIEW_THUMB_NOTE" with a choice of either ok, or cancel.
Lastly, When trying to add images, the images never make it to the end product of the review.
what we put in:
Medium and Low Quality Versions provided:<br />
<a href="http://files.filefront.com/TS2_NeoTokyo_Trailer_Low_Nonhdzip/;4680127;;/fileinfo.html" target="_blank"><font color="#9dd5d4">http://files.filefront.com/TS2_NeoTokyo_Trailer_Low_Nonhdzip/;4680127;;/fileinfo.html</font></a> - Low Non HD<br />
<a href="http://files.filefront.com/TS2_NeoTokyo_Trailer_Med_NonHDzip/;4680066;;/fileinfo.html" target="_blank">http://files.filefront.com/TS2_NeoTokyo_Trailer_Med_NonHDzip/;4680066;;/fileinfo.html</a> - Med- Non HD</div><br />
NeoTokyo Trailer
what comes out:
Medium and Low Quality Versions provided:
http://files.filefront.com/TS2_NeoTokyo_Trailer_Low_Nonhdzip/;4680127;;/fileinfo.html" target="_blank">http://files.filefront.com/TS2_NeoTokyo_Trailer_Low_Nonhdzip/;4680127;;/fileinfo.html - Low Non HD
http://files.filefront.com/TS2_NeoTokyo_Trailer_Med_NonHDzip/;4680066;;/fileinfo.html" target="_blank">http://files.filefront.com/TS2_NeoTokyo_Trailer_Med_NonHDzip/;4680066;;/fileinfo.html - Med- Non HD
last last thing... In the body of the text, when we use a word that has an " ' " in it such as Can't, the ' is changed to an / (this is when auto-line break is set to YES)
- had a thought, is the rating a simple code change to alter the 1-5 setting or would that involved massive code changes.

That last post was on Nuke version 7.8.0.3.1
I fixed alot of the other admin errors and the text editor from poping up in admin. (made the space to edit in too tiny to see any text)
I could probably work out one of these issues but I really dont know on any of them for sure.
If you look here:
http://www.thalassemia.com.pk/nuke76/modules.php?name=MReviews&file=rev&id=62
On your test site you will see what I am getting. |

I have it working fine on raven scripts 7.9 version.
I have just a couple of problems. I have used the wysiwyg editor to replace the textarea. I just used some simple font and img tags but his code fucks it all up. The review changes the font and stops the img tags from working.
How can I get the code to take the $content from the input box and upload it to the database without all the extra slashes?
I then want to be able to display the review without all the bad formatting, and use my layout and font styles instead
He's so close to a good module here as the default nuke one is shite |
