Ive never used Nuke before but really like the idea of having a nuke website for my front end of my website. Please note, I have tried to search for an answer but all I can find is how to change from PHPBB to Nuke and nothing about the whole website. I have currently a plain HTML based website with PHPBB2 forums (2.0.12)
What I would like to do is keep the forums seperate and have nuke for my index. Im not sure if this is even possible, but I am assuming it is. I was thinking I could just delete my index.html file and install Nuke but I get an error with fantastico saying I cannot install two scripts on the same domain.
You can have a standalone phpBB and standalone phpNuke. I don't know about Fantastico, but perhaps you can just move your phpBB files into its own directory and then install phpNuke.
You don't have to use Fantastico to install phpNuke, just follow the directions in the package from http://phpnuke.org
thank you for the reply. I dont understand what the converter does. From the looks of it i would be changing my sql databases for phpbb forums over to nuke which i dont want to do. Id like to keep my phpbb forums seperate, and if theres something i dont get please let me know.
I guess maybe my problem is im not sure how to get rid of my website and install nuke on it without deleting my forum directory. I tried to delete the css and index file and i get the error still cannot install two scripts on the same domain. The manual install I have read and really might as well be written in chinese to me. I guess for someone who isnt familiar with php and phpnuke maybe its not a good idea to try to run it on a website?
Oh also, my BB forums are under public_html/forum so I can leave the folder alone and be ok i think. I just cant for the life of me get this to work

You should just be able delete it just fine. I'm not really sure what the issue is, if the Nuke page is on the root and the forum it its own directory - there should be no problem.
