This has me baffled. I've created my God user for phpnuke and I can enter the admin area for the forums, yet when I try to log into the forums with my God account information I just get a "Login incorrect/Please try again" error.

What do I need to do to setup an admin account in the forums?

**Edited to add I'm using phpnuke v7.5 and phpBB v2.0.10 -- both of which were included with my ipowerweb account.

Try logging into the Your Account login page. For some reason logging in straight through the Forums module doesn't seem to work properly.

If that still doesn't work, set up an account as normal, then go into http://www.yoursite.tld/modules/Forums/admin/index.php . You should be able to access this file if you're logged in as an admin via http://www.yoursite.tld/admin.php . From here I expect you can figure it out on your own.

Does that help?

This is because the login box from phpbb was never removed when it was ported to nuke (dont ask me why as its simple enough).

I think the problem here is that the user would like to set an admin for the forums rather than logging into the forum admin.

To accomplish this you must login to the forums admin, then go to user admin --> permissions.

Enter the name of the user that you wish to modify (in your case this is the person who you wish to grant admin).

Then in the top left it will ask to set the User Level. Set this to Admin or Moderator, whichever is your choice.

Note: This does NOT grant admin access to the phpnuke site via /admin.php but purely for the forums.

Hope this helps

Very helpful indeed ... thank you both for the quick replies.

You're correct, I was trying to figure out how to setup an admin account for the forums. Looks like your way would have been easier than what I actually ended up doing, which was going into the db directly and creating the user with a level of 2.

Again though, I appreciate the assistance both of you provided.
