1) You need to sign up for a google account... https://www.google.com/adsense/

2) Once they approve your account you will receive code from them.

3) Where to put the code.?? Nuke cops has their code inside of their NavTap.php file. I have my code inside my_header.php file from the includes folder.

4) How to code it...
It looks something like this:

Code:

?>
<script type="text/javascript"><!--
google_ad_client = "pub-XXXXXXXXXXXX";
google_ad_width = 468;
google_ad_height = 60;
google_ad_format = "468x60_as";
google_color_border = "336699";
google_color_bg = "FFFFFF";
google_color_link = "0000FF";
google_color_url = "008000";
google_color_text = "000000";
//--></script>
<script type="text/javascript"
  src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
</script>
<?php
Where XXXXX is your google id...

Notice the php tags are backwards.. that is to close the original opening php tag so you can use the javascript... and then you open the php tag once again to match up with the original closing tag...

That is all she wrote...

Thanks to Zhen & Scottr for their help...

Hello,

Yes you can add it to your footer. Although, phpnuke will reject javascript codes if you add it via admin section. The best way to add it is via phpmyadmin.

Open your phpmyadmin. Goto nuke_config and edit your footer from there.

I have my google ad in my header and I added my javascript banner exchange codes to my footer via phpmyadmin.

is there a way to have the google ads open in a new window rather than take users away from my site?

ooh no.. i detest pop-ups myself, and there are so many ways of stopping them apearing that many peeps wouldn't even see it.

I think it's something to do with the .js file they use, and there's probably some clause in terms and conditions saying thats how it has to be.

nm.. it earns the cents so it works, that will do i suppose.

Smile

i actually visited your site when i first placed my google banner about two months ago, very useful so thankyou for your info. Smile

but that doesn't solve how to stop it taking visitors away form the website.

i think i'll send a little note to the google adsense team and find out if it is going to be possible, perhaps in later relases of their .js or something.

Sarah

Sarah,

so you mean the target="_blank" function?

I think google (and advertisers) don't want that people click on a banner and then a new page opens.

And you can always use the return-button. I have never lost any traffic because of an advertisement (I guess)

greetz,

Bart
