Can I allow users to use the same email address?

First of all I did search these forums first. To make sure and not annoy anyone with asking something that has been answered. I read these forums a lot and have learned so much..

Still I would like to allow my users to have several user names with the same email address. I tried to do it on my own with no success.

I too would very much like the answer to this; although I think I already know it based on security (probably not ever gonna happen).
