Forum not working via login

I have been using PHP Nuke 6.9 with bbtonuke 2.0.6 for a while now but the links in the forum and on the scrolling block have stopped working since I changed some of the forums to registered users only.

Some of our members asked for privacy on certain forums but now when they click a link in the scrolling block or on the main forums page the redirect from the login box changes the URL and they get the message "The forum you selected does not exist".

For some reason the login process is changing the URL so the topic or post id is missing and users are redirected to http://www.mysite.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum
instead of the full URL with a topic or forum id.

If anyone knows of a fix we would really appreciate it.
