When you installed it, youwere advised to upload asec.php and rename it. That is AS's admin control panel. To access it, login as GOD into admin.php. Then erase the admin.php part of the url and replace it with whatever you named asec.php. The AS control panel will then appear.
You can test it by deliberately trying to hack your site. First you should protect yourself from being locked out of your own site by using the AS control panel. Madman offers instructions elsewhere under this topic.
Yes. If you set up e-mail notifications, AS will send you an e-mail if it encounters anything. I added an admin through the database tables. It told me about that, so I knew it was working.

lol, firstly somehow i've stuck you on ignore, how do i un-ignore you
Secondly, if i access the AS control panel via the renamed file i uploaded, this is what i see, no mention of email etc etc:-
Emergency Menu Panel
Your authorization and activation codes seems to be valid.
Choose these following options to proceed in emergency mode.
God Admin Approval
Use this option to approve God Admin account.
Please use this option only if you and only yourself was made any changes to God Admin account.
Recovery Progress
Use this option if you want to restore all admin accounts to last known good states.
Please use this option when admin accounts has been altered by unauthorized access.
Disable HTTP Authentification Login
Use this option to disable admin login using HTTP Authentification when you having problems using this feature.
Disabling this option will allow you login as admin in standard PHP-Nuke login prompt.
Only the GOD account user -- generally the person who first set the site up -- has access to the full control panel. It is possible to add GOD accounts, but it would be better to log in using the correct account.
Oh, i'll sort a new account out tonight, meanwhile i read your posts not logged on.
Now AS, no i'm not seeing what you got in the screen shot.
I only have one admin login, the one i set up whilst installing phpnuke. I keep hearing about this 'GOD' account and presumed this was it.
If I log in as my only admin login and check inside the admin/edit admins section there is only account listed, the one i'm logging in with. Am I missing something, is their a default GOD account that is automatically set up but is not visible from the nuke edit admins section ?
AS is running as I tried to add some flash to the site using illegal html tags and I got a AS blocking page, but it didn't ban me.
When I log in as my phpnuke admin account, the type in the renamed AS admin file in the browser to log in I get:
Access Denied
You are not authorized to access this page.
Then I get the two fields to input emergency security codes (authorisation and activation codes).
Well, you are using the GOD account if it's the one used to set up the site originally. Is it possible you have changed the password to that account recently? Or that you used the non-GOD user account to set up AS?
If you are getting the access denied page, AS thinks you are a non-GOD admin. So somewhere along the line, you installed AS incorrectly
madman here is the developer of AS. He checks this forum pretty regularly, and may have different advice. But I think you need to delete the AS files and start over.
No i havn't changed anything to do with adminusers or god admin. I havn't even created a superuser, just log in each time with the account I created during phpnuke install.
I've looked in myphpadmin and theres only one user in the useradmin, the one i'm loggin in with.
The AS install went smoothly, got the validation and activation keys, so not sure.
I'll wait and see if Madman appears.
Thanks for all your time though. I wanna get it right before I lift directory protection from phpnuke folder.
Which leaves me with my phpnuke 7.4 with a buggered GOD account.
I've looked in phpmyadmin (nuke_authors) and there is no GOD listed, just my normal admin account which i set up upon install (although obviously wrong !)
So .....
I'd like to basically delete all admin users including the GOD account and then create a new GOD account, then re-install Admin Secure.
How is this done please, and am I right in thinking the GOD account name must be GOD ?
Sorry to keep throwing questions at you, but nearly there !!
If you have access to the admin control panel, you can create a new GOD admin account. USe Edit Admins, add admin. For the real name, use GOD. The nickname can be anything. This will create a new GOD account
Alternatively, if you have access to the database through phpMyAdmin, you can add a GOD account there. The procedure should be in the top forum here http://www.nukecops.com/postt1.html
