I nominate Francisco Burzi (nukelite) for the very first Nuke Lifetime Achievement award for contributing so much to the entire Nuke family of products. Without Francisco, none of these would be available to anyone:
PHP-Nuke
Postnuke
NCBeta
OSC2Nuke
CGP-Nuke
NSNNuke/Open Site Manager
LizardWare
myPHPNuke
ASPNuke
JavaNuke
XMLNuke
And the list just goes on, and on, and on. Even if his code isn't being used due to different platform, the whole concept of *Nuke started with Francisco. His work has left such an incredible and indelible mark on our lives. |

I agree that if it weren't for Thatware PHP-Nuke would not be here. However, it was due to Francisco's marketing skills that dozens of *Nuke ports exist today, and not *Thatware named ports.
Francisco brought *Nuke to the world, and made Thatware known. |

I won't add one because the proof is in the pudding... Look at everyone running PHP-Nuke by Francisco. They aren't running Thatware. Its all Nuke... and it all started due to Francisco. I'd say that gives him a lifetime achievement award. Even folks who are jealous of him, still run Nuke derivatives. |

There are so many people that have helped shape nuke into what it is today... Zhen-Xjell, Chatserv, MikeM, etc...
But I think your right. Start with the creators of the Nuke system. |

OK here we go again kissing FB as-s. It people like Chatserv, Raven, AI "when he was here" BOB Marion and many others help make nuke a success.
FB releases bugs, bugs and more bugs and then it up to the community to patch all his screws ups.
ZX why do keep kissing FB as-s? Does it get you some club money?
And for OSM it kicks the Rainbow Brite out of PHPNUKE.
How do you feel with Chatserv saving FB all All the time?
FB cant even release a stable version of nuke, all he does is rush to the next version of nuke and does not even listen to the community.
This are my opinions and if you don't like to BAD |

I think that a bug fix version 7.5 would go a long way towards pudding, up to and including the June 11th exploits. But thats about as likely to happen as ZX is going to stop with the fuffy news articles.
No one can take away from Fb his concept but look at the facts most of these bugs can be traced back many many versions and have been reported over and over again. But still they exist. Bugs in Your Account that have been reported over and over again still aren't fixed in any official release.
Thats why so many who have been in your shoes (ZX) and even deeper then that have repeatedly walked away from the phpnuke project. Which has slowed real progress more then any of can accurately measure with any opinion polls. Imagine where phpnuke could be today had the sourceforge project been run by a friendly development group!
Instead if you want to use advanced features you will have to move over to PostNuke or better yet Typo3.
You reference all those other applications like they are the prodical child when in fact they are more like the RedHeaded step child you'd like to slap because he doesn't do what you tell him to do! Get over it you had your chance to make something and passed on the opportunity. ZX your yesterdays headlines just like FB! |

For those who haven't noticed, nuke development HAS really slowed down these couple of years. Why is that? Take a good look at the direction your nominee is going, ZX. Yes, he might have spawned off an excellent CMS, but I can name off a few people who have done MORE work than he has to his own CMS. So, I nominate the entire community for this award, as it is they who have made FB's project to what it is today.
Do you know WHY there are so many phpNuke forks? Its quite obvious, really. Those who know that phpNuke is just a massive bundle of bells and trinkets, also know that it has the potential to be something better than with the additions of all this crap that 95% of the community doesn't use. So, they fork off into better projects, because they know the longer they stay in this community, the worse the project may get. Better to fork off it and attempt to save it while anyone still can (ie. CPGNuke, OSM, etc)
ZX, you actually believe we are jealous over someone who releases this 'software'? Dude, get real please. I am sure everyone is as sick of patching their CMS every da\mn day as much as I am. So, just because we piss and moan over buggy software, doesn't mean we are jealous.
Hey guys, speaking of jealous... hows Fortress, ZX? Oh, wait...
Anyway, good game at sucking up to FB though... next map please. I am sure he's so thrilled with this 'oh so important and meaningful' award (FB's sarcasm amuses me). 'fuffy news articles'? I couldn't agree more. |
