I'm trying to install phpnuke evo, and i've uploaded the HTML file to my main directory (at least i think so), but when i do the whole www.mysite.com/install.php thing i get a 404 url not found error. Am i putting the files in the wrong spot? i have tried www.mysite.com/html/install.php and a few other things but they dont work. i followed this guide to install http://wiki.nuke-evolution.com/index.php?title=Nuke-Evolution_Install

My question is which folder would i want to upload the html file to?
Here is a list of what folders show up when i connect to my host using filezilla or use the cpanel file manager:

.cpanel
.fantasticodata
.trash
access-logs
etc
mail
public_ftp
public_html
tmp
www

Should i be putting the html folder in www or public_html by chance?

I would use the "public_html" folder as that is what I've got on my server - I've never seen both www and public_html together on the same server.

If you've unsure, upload a small file and upload and test. If you can't access your file you know you've uploaded it to the wrong place. If you can access it, you've found where to use.

It is a cpanel server, the www folder is just a link to the public_html folder, they are in essence the same thing.

Upload everything from the html folder (from the nuke package) to the folder public_html. Once that is done you should be able to access it from mysite.com/index.php
