NSN Groups and PHP-Nuke 8

First, my apologies if this is somewhere else on the boards, tried to find something about it but the SEARCH engine keeps giving me a "
SQL Error : 1153 Got a packet bigger than 'max_allowed_packet" error and a bunch of gibberish...

I just got a site that already has PHP-Nuke 8.0 installed (yes, I know about issues with it, but can't downgrade).

I'm trying to set up group permissions such that specific groups can see certain modules/blocks...so obviously want NSN Groups; however, the only distribution I can find is NSN_Groups_171_71-78 which is only for up to 7.8...is there an 8.0 version?

Or will this distribution work with 8.0? I don't want to take the time editing all the files and installing the module only to find it doesn't work. I've tried using the Site Visitors block and it only partially works with a bunch of _SV variables...but installing NSN Groups is a bit more invasive.

Anybody know of a 8.0 distribution or if the version above works with 8.0?

Thanks dezina! Due to issues with PHP-Nuke 8.0 in both security as well as support for mods, I ended up going with one of the branches that were written off 7.6 (RavenNuke to be exact). It already had NSN Groups and other mods that were relevant built in and saved me much headaches down the road hopefully.
