Hi guys,
I'm new to nuke but have some experience with phpBB,
From what I can gather, this port was originally witten for phpBB 2.0.4
and now updates are applied for each new version of phbBB?

Would it be possible for me to obtain some info on the original port?
I would like to make a phpBB Mod style 'guide'
I guess I'd need chatserv's permission for this.

So basically you could start off with a vanilla phpBB follow the instuctions in the guide and you'd end up with a ported version.

This would allow you see exactly what changes have be made, and getting to the point... see exactly what changes need to be made to get Mods to work!

I (and from what I've read many others) would be happy with a truly stand alone version of phpBB which only shares the user log in with nuke.

Obviously it's possible because it's done with nukeBB, could a Mod be applied to phpBB that only changes the user table to suit nuke, but nothing else?

You may just need to ask chatserv. He'd know all about it.. I don't know really who did the first original port.

I know some projects have tried with a independent phpBB running on phpNuke's tables.. but not seen anyone truly successful.

Thanks Evaders99,

Yeah I did try to 'merge' nuke and phpBB in one database and share the user tables.
adding the extra columns needed. There aren't quite the same though...
(I had no luck)

I realise that some phpBB mods will work on nukeBB but stuff like CH... I'm not even going to attempt that. Razz

Sorry, I'm getting a little of topic here but.. I think someone may have an integration solution for any CMS including Nuke and phpBB using SOAP
here :Forum Integration
