When I follow this link http://www.yoursite.com/modules.php?name=My_eGallery&file=install
and select to install database from scratch I get this message...
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/sakop/public_html/php/modules/My_eGallery/public/mainGallery.php on line 120
Can anyone help me?

Did you upload the install.php that came with it? Also, check the permissions and make sure all folders are where they are suppoed to be. Then finally double check your settings.
