I hope someone here can maybe help. I am no longer able to change the user permissions in phpbb forum anymore. I need to allow a new moderator and I also added a new section to the forum and the old moderators also cannot be added as moderators. When I click on User Admin/Permissions and search for the user to modify, the window comes up with the current permissions, I can change those all day and save it but it never actually saves...the permissions remain as is. Also maybe someone knows what table in MySql handles the user permissions for the forum, maybe I could manually edit it in the database, I looked through it all but couldn't find where it all connects. I hope that all makes sence.
I am using PHPnuke 7.5 with phpbb 2.0.10 and BBtoNuke 2.0.7 |

I just now redid the fixes and can see my admin panel again, and no, updating to BBtoNuke 2.0.17 did not help me. So now I do have all the latest patches and fixes for Nuke 7.5. I am wondering if I am missing something in the Mysql..a table or something, that is the only thing that had changed at all on the site, and a few months ago everything was working fine because I edited a moderator. I do not want to bother anyone with this problem because I am the type of person who solves his own problems..but I ran out of options on this problem so I am looking for help. I even compared older backups on the DB line for line and couldn't see anything, I can't even figure out where The forum grabs the information from mysql to say who is a moderator or not... if I knew that I would be able to manuaully edit the mysql to suit my needs. This has become a big headache for me...any help would be appreciated. Thank you. |

I had never heard of that so i am not sure, I did a google search and i do not believe that is on the server, i didn't install it for sure. Like I said though, it was all working fine till like mid june (5 weeks ago) or so, and I had done nothing except a db restore. Nothing was done to any php files, it just stopped working. I am just wondering if something is missing maybe in the database, that is what I believe but cannot find in the database where this is located..I see nothing refering to moderation, but the site shows the current moderators. |

I thank you for your assistance Evaders, I have narrowed the problem down to it is something on the server. I did not install anything so my host must have and I will open a trouble ticket with them. The way I found out was, I have 2 websites on different servers. I uploaded my entire site on the other server with the same database and was able to edit the permissions there, so the server definately has something installed. I just thought I would share that info with you incase another problem comes up like this. I hope this thread is staying because I am sending my host this link so they can read and understand the problem. Again thanks for your assistance. |
