I have My egallery 2.7.9 and the submit media is not working. I have chmod777 on every folder and subfolder in the gallery folder and it still gives this error message:
The script was unable to write in the destination directory. Please check the write permissions.
can anyone help? i read all the forums and couldnt find anything.

If you have changed the name of the temp directory like it says you're supposed to, change the reference to /temp in the files config, index.php, and valifatenewmedia.php in the directory /admin/modules/gallery
The directory that you created instead of temp should be chmod 755
now I gotta go find what's up with the e-c a r d s and s e a r c h.
(that was so people looking for the same fix, dont have to wade through yet another usless reference when searching)

what i had to do was change the temp directory chmod to 777, it was at 755. thanks
