I have been wanting to upgrade my site for some time since maintaining security fixes is getting very hard. I run PHP-Nuke 5.5 With Xforum, (which Trollix stoped developing for php-nuke after 5.6) I have managed to get the patches done and upgrade the php code for php 4.3.1 so its kinda hacked now. My biggest issue is the number of forum changes recently and the ability to port mine to another such as phpbb, is this possible? Or should I just start with a clean forum? Or maybe just keep hacking at 5.5 till its, its own fork?

I would recommend starting fresh and just displaying your old forum in an IFRAME or separate window.
