Hi,
I have totally mucked up my nuke site and I want to start over.
Shall I delete all the tables from my database and reinstall the backup file (.sql)? I'm not sure how to do this. At the moment I have no access to my site. |

It's a long story...
....I deleted all my nuke_files in my d'base thinking that I could use the backup.sql files to restore them. This was because I was having a problem with the forums where logged in members could not post as the forums thought they were not logged in so took them to the site loggin page when they tried to post. seems there are a few people in this forum with this problem.
Anyway...so I deleted the tables from my dbase. When I tried using the phpnuke backup file (that I created first) it only gave me a file called "admin" which has no extension. I tried renaming this to admin.sql (which then could be opened to see the d'base tables instructions). But when I tried installing this admin.sql into phpMyAdmin it ghave me an error after about 5 mins of loading. So I tried to install the backup.sql file that I had made from phpMyAdmin itself and that too gave me the error.
How am I supposed to use the admin file that phpnuke creates on backup d'base? Should I have simply have renamed it?
So, here I am....left with no phpnuke site.
I have now reinstalled the original nuke.sql from the phpnuke 6.7 install files and am back to having a blank site
Whats worse is now I have a blank site with a fresh install the forums still don't allow logged in users to post I think this is a bug as it is happening on a fresh install. Go see here http://www.patcharena.com/test/patcharena/index.php ...if you creatre an account, log in and then try and post in the forum you will see the problem I (and a lot of others in this forum) are having). Is this a bug with php-nuke?
I'd love to get my old site back....how should I use these backup.sql (Admin) files to restore it? |

In this thread another guy has the same problem I am having with the forums.
www.nukecops.com/postt9551.html
...and I am the guy that posted asking how to initialise my forums and you said to delete the forum tables.
Well....I deleted all my nuke_ tables in the hope that I could use the backups. But they didn't work...hence wanting to do a fresh install.
If you could direct me how to use the "admin" backup file from php-nuke "database backup" then I would be very grateful. |
