This seems like a far-fetch idea in my head, but I am going to ask it anyway. I am trying to create a web page for only employees. I would ideally like it to when either a. the person registers, or b. can login with that information, from the windows 2000 domain controller. If I can't login with the domain controller information, then I just want it to check to see if the username exists ask for password then allow auto-activation of account, but if it doesn’t then it would ask me for manual activation of account.
Right now the temp server is on Win XP, Apache 2, Nuke 6.5, with PHP and MySQL running. I would like to test just to see if it can access just the user database on the local machine.
Does this sound doable?

No to hooking into domain controller. To autoactivate, get my hack here.
Didn't think it was possible. I kinda want to have full control of the membership, but make it automatic. I think I am just lazy. thanks for your help Raven

There is a WINAPI that they offer. Check this, but I don't think the controller is there http://us3.php.net/w32api
