We hear a lot about removing the security gfx/check option in 6.5 and above but is there a way of actually adding this to say 6.0? I have a very heavily custom 6.0 site which I dont want/have to upgrade but would love to have some additional security with this option.

Just get the 6.5 files and copy the appropriate code to your 6.0 code. Since you have done heavy customization, it should be easy. You will have to modify Your_Account/index.php and your Login script.
