Can/Does the reccomend us keep a list of user emails that have been reccomended?
Id like to have a membership drive and give credit to the top recruiters.
This would be a great way to determine who has been reccomended by whom.
Thanks now to folks who take the time to reply.

I don't think it does, but that would be an awesome module rewrite! I might do something like that. I am always looking for my next project!

Well hop to it! I want some members!
Id be happy to help make it all happen faster... I'm sure it can't be that hard - even if its just a temporary .txt file for a starter. I know a lil bit of code writing technique but php is new to me and phpnuke is REALLY new to me.

Hmmm, right off, We would need to make a choice on the design? Here are 2 things I would be thinking of:
1) Track users by e-mail when they sign up. Ex. When the person comes to your site and signs up, we check to see if someone made a recommendation to that e-mail and then update that users "recommendations made" etc. (fairly easy)
2) Track users by some type of code that is embedded in the link, that is sent in the recommend e-mail. This is probably the best and most professional way, but also the most difficult?
Truth is, I wanted to do all this at one time, but I took on some other projects. What does everyone else think? Should it be done!

Okay I'm selfish because I have an immidate need Im willing to accept less than what I would in say a coded module for release to others. That being said I would be happy if when the the form was submitted the data was kept in a raw .txt file and I will search it and sort it myself at the end of the drive. Certainly this is what.. . 2 or 3 lines of code? I would love to have a membership drive... NOW
Now my selfish part aside, I think the who reccomended you question when you sign up never works because we already asked a "zillion" questions and "I dont wanna answer any more" so - bad method.
The "click here to singup" also is really not that good of an idea because it could appear too pushy and all those numbers in the link could be suspicious. However, if I altered the email to have it say "we are having membership drive and JOESCHMOE thinks you would like this site - so that he gets credit for recommending you please click here-" If done in this way then perhaps all the numbers won't cause suspicion but without an explanation they would.
So I think the email should be friendly - plain link to the site- and the person wandering over will _hopefully_ use their email when they sign up.
Now I think after all the signup stuff is done THEN you can ask who reccomended them to the site and you are more likely to get a real answer.
Of course the absolute most professional way to do it would be to have it work all 3 ways and let the admin decide which way is best for him.
Now.. about those 3 lines of code
Thanks for the reply!
