downloads module that looks like a gallery

I've tried coppermine and like its support for zip files and other documents, but it's not quite what I need.

I'm looking for a module that acts like a gallery but allows downloading files, and allows only registered users to download.

The main pages show thumbnails, and when you click on them, you get a larger pic with description & other info, plus a "Download Now" link/button to download a zip file. (The pic could be a preview of a 3D model for instance, meaning the user will not be downloading the image itself, but a different file instead.)

Any recommendations? BTW, I tried downloading from menalto's Gallery but the files keep getting downloaded as web pages/html only, instead of zip. (I use Firefox.) Not that Gallery seems to have the functions I'm looking for but who knows...
