Remove empty line before header?

I am trying to find out how to eliminate the initial linebreak before the header. It also appears after a banner, before the header if banners are activated. I have been unable to find an answer via search, and it may not even be possible because every theme I have tested has it.

Nuke 6.5
Modifying 'NukeNews' theme.

Here's a small snipet of the code. It's the <br> after the body and before the opening table tag that I *think* I am trying to remove:

I thought it was in header.html because it started with a <br> but it didn't help. I can't find anything in themes.php, index.php or mainfile.php that might cause it, but I am by no means an expert here.

Does anyone have a clue for me?
