hey all,
I'm just posting this since it's a problem I found when I installed 7.7 and couldn't find anything here to solve the problem. I ran into this with an older install and I just remembered how to fix it...
OK, for those of you who are tired of having an _ or an underscore for every block title, etc, etc ALL you have to do is change the lang-english.php file to lang-en.php in the following places:
/languages
/modules -> go into ALL /admin and /language folders
/admin/languages
Some questions:
1. Is this a problem that everyone has or just me?
2. If it's just me why?
Thanks! |

Generally that's an indication that those entries are missing in the language file. If you solution works, then great, but the alternative would be to create new entries in the language file that is being used. |

yeah, that makes sense but if this was the problem then why would it read the block titles fine when referencing the same file except when it's renamed lang-en.php?
weird... |

lang-en.php and lang-english.php are NOT the same file. |

yeah, i know. On my recent install, however, my first alteration was to change the lang-english.php file's name in /admin/languages to lang-en.php.(since this is where I first saw the problem) As soon as I did this everything showed up properly in the Admin panel. I thought I was good OTHER than the root/languages folder but then realized that the other modules weren't showing up properly either. SO, I went back to the server and changed the corresponding file names and then everything else worked fine as well.
I don't have any files with the name lang-en.php OTHER than the ones I renamed so it just seems odd that it wouldn't be anything other than a referencing issue in the code where it looks for the English files.
IF this is the case, though, I don't know why my 7.7 build files are this way. Did I install something wrong? ???
Hopefully the above is helpful to "add to the situation." Things are working, obviously, but I'm one of those people that is annoyed by not knowing exactly where the error is ACTUALLY being caused. I'm assuming a referencing issue but IF that was the case, as I mentioned, I don't know why my downloaded files would be any different than others who have NOT had the same problem. ???
Thanks man. Let me know your additional thoughts if you think of anything OR if I'm misunderstanding things... |
