I've just released 2 or 3 little code babies recently, my first ones. As has been said already, the number of downloads is thanks enough it iteslf, which I certainley agree with. Same with my music downloads, though if we all admit it, it is nice to receive a modicum of praise occasionally, I expect you could just as easily become weary of too much though. Everything in moderation including moderation.
It's not as if most of us haven't at some time or other, leached tons of code , javascripts, windows progs, linux os, nuke itself, e.t.c. especially before we could write a line of code of our own. That's how everyone learns. No one is born a programmer and not everyone wants to be or is meant to be one.
Who can honestly say that have personally emailed a thank you to the author of every script, or piece software that they ever tried? no-one, that's who. And who can honestly say that have paid the licence for peice software that they were supposed to? I say No-One! and if a man stands up to tell me different, I shall call him a liar!
Forgive me if I appear to be stating the obvious but sometimes it's good to remember that we all started out in the same place, and we're all gonna finish in the same place.

Generosity to others means giving for the sake of giving without expectation of a "return on the investment," without feeling hurt or ripped off or angry if we do not get back from the recipient in equal measure.
Try it. Giving to give quickly becomes it's own reward. The inner pleasure of this kind of giving can be one of life's great joys.
oohh ooohh i feel tingly all over {squirm} {squirm}
LOL ~ Just teasing, good post. Even just a vote on the download is thanks and feedback enough for me. look forward to seeing you grow script wise.

I meant to append this to the thread below, A grumble about the community. If taken in context of that, it doesn't appear to be quite sucha spurious emmision.
