I tried to register but it seems that there's an error here. Anyway, here's my Q.
I was wondering if it would be possible if a user would be able to have the option of viewing the forums with or without the blocks showing on the left.
I tried copying the module/forums folder and renaming to forums2 and adding in the theme.php code to hide for forums2, but when the topics themselves are viewed the left modules come back (probably since its going back into the forums folder)
So I was wondering if it would be possible for a user to hide them.
(I'm using 6.5)

Thanks in advance.

Of course I searched first. The information provided wasn't for Nuke 6.5.

Thanks, but I've gotten that far already. My Question is, how would I be able to make it so the user has the option to show or hide the left blocks while viewing the forum. (ie. a link at the bottom called "show/hide blocks)
Thanks in advance.

If I'm not mistaken, this was an option in the first beta releases of 6.5. Then something went wrong...
I use two versions of a theme - with and without left blocks. Clumsy but works.

working on that now

http://www.voicesinmyhead.net/modules.php?name=Forums
(click on the </> in the top left)

so far i still need to figure out how to make it hide by default, apply the same feature to the right side blocks, and figure out how to carry it from page to page.

Easy to do that?

That looks great! I'd want to make the default showing the blocks. Good luck with that and keep me posted if you can.

I made a Hide/Show Left blocks link on one of my sites that was running 6.0 with the phpBB port. The two threads I used to guide me were first this one:

Post by mikem at bbtonuke site Follow directions in the first post the one with making a themeheader and themeheader1

Then follow the directions in this post by wspearall This was for Nuke 6.0, so of course some variable names may need to be changed but at my first cursury glance of it I didn't see any mentions of $uid or anything so you may be ok as is.

Anyways the instuctions on how to make it toggle are there. Play with it and let me know how it goes.

Good Luck

Oh and as always make backups before playing with this Wink
