Some of you might be asking "Team Nuke Cops... What's that???"

Please feel free to read this article.

Nuke Cops has recently started a team with folding@home in the hopes of assisting some scientists in finding cures to many diseases.

Who can join team Nuke Cops?

Anyone with a computer and an internet connection. It doesn't require you to have any special genetic knowledge, scientific background, degrees of any kind. It doesn't require any waivers to be signed. It doesn't require anything from you except for the donation some CPU time. The program does the rest.

Please remember the first time you run the program you need to enter a username, as well as a team number 35564. It is possible to change your information after the first run if you forgot to enter the team information, just right click on the program icon, and click on configuration. It will open the page for your username and team number.

If you have already joined the team and are folding, but are wondering why your username doesn't show up in the team list. It is because your name doesn't show up until the first project is complete.

Happy Folding! Smile

Hmmm... I wonder if I can get someone over at the computing center here on the university interested in this. Smile

How about adding 2,000 machines with dual CPUs (so.... 4000 CPUs... duh) all clustered into a super computer? Smile

I can at least ask... I mean... what are all those CPUs doing when they aren't trying to map the human genome?

I leave the program running all the time in the background. It uses very little resources, there is a choice of a graphical or text version. It just crunches away in the background, I don't even notice it.

If you think about the number of people who leave their computers running while they aren't using them that is a lot of folding that could be done. Why not do something useful with the power it takes to leave the computer on?

71 Percent. Its dont 286 out of 400.

My PC isnt on 24/7 so that may be why, although its still plugging away at it for about 12 hours of the day.

Yes that's why. Smile

You'll have to leave it on to get that one finished though, there is a three day time limit on them I believe.

Yes each group has a time limit to completion because those results are needed for subsequent folds.
