For lack of a better description, it's something like a mini-chat block.

What is a shoutbox?
Basically, It is a box that sits on your site that makes it possible to leave messages, make comments or to exchange with other visitors.

where can I see it in action?
I have one on my site but it's not up all the time right now. Here is the link to the main website that you can find it and get more information on it my shoutbox . There is a live example on the front you can check out.

The folder on your server?
Are you hosting or do you have a Cpanel?
If you have a Cpanel, delete from there and not FTP

POst the part of the installation file so we can help more. some of us have hard times but can help

Im useing cpanel soi will try there to delete.
Here is the instructions to install shoutbox.

Two ways for Install:

Step One: Place files on server (keep directories hierarchie !!)
Step Two: Log into phpnuke as an administrator
Step Three: under administration/Qshoutblock select "install database"
Step Four: copy/paste modules/Qshoutblock/language/lang-english.php into
admin/language/lang-english.php starting from :

/////HERE////////
//admin for ShoutBox --> to be added in admin/language/lang-english.php
define ...

Step Five: add and activate the block-ShoutBlock.php (admin/blocks/Add a new block).

OR

visit your site at: http://www.yourpathto.php/nuke/quiecom-shoutblock.php,
copy/paste modules/Qshoutblock/language/lang-english.php into
admin/language/lang-english.php starting from :

/////HERE////////
//admin for ShoutBox --> to be added in admin/language/lang-english.php
define ....
and add/activate the block

could someone just please explain how to install this.
Thanks

Make sure to upload any language files that came with the shoutblock.
And/or add any define fields to the proper language file.

Also, do you have your shoutblock up and running? If so, mind if I get your site URL?

I have the underscore problem as well. Only in my admin settings, also anyone know where I can edit the look of the shoutbox ie. reduce the size of the say box?

I figured out what the underscore problem is - seems when you install shoutbox the readme states:
"copy/paste "modules/Qshoutblock/language/lang-english.php into
admin/language/lang-english.php starting from"

therein lies the rub, I uploaded my old lang-english file from my original php 7.4 folder into admin/language and low and behold the _ underscores vanished. Whoo Hoo!

shout box is working fine, so far so good.
