I installed Php-Nuke 6.5, with the built-in forum of Nuke-Cops. Now I gave myself Special Rank: Admin. That gives me the correct status under my name, but when I go to user permissions and set myself to usergroup admin, it doens't save that info, so I can not create any Sticky topics or Announcements. How to fix this ?

Have you set yourself as admin in the Forum Administration -> user permissions screen ?

Ok - Now I'm confused. If you’re logged in as an administrator then that’s all you need... right? Unless of course you guys are talking about being a forum moderator...

If its moderator status you want then you'll either have to create a group that can moderate and place yourself in the group or assign yourself moderate permissions like Raven stated.

well, that's the problem actually. When I go to User Administration > Permissions and give myself User Level Administrator, but when I click save, it says it remembered it and saved it, but when I go back to my profile, everything is still as the old and my User Level is just User. It can't remember that I'm user level admin. Making myself moderator of all forums, doesn't help either, since it saves nothing in the user permission screen.

edit: Never mind, the problem is solved already. I just tried again and it did save it now, must have been a problem with my database or something.

Make sure your user_level in nuke_users table is a 2.

What do you click on to get a user set at level 2 in this field? I had to go edit my database by hand to set user_level to 2.

For the system to indicate your being an Admin it is necessary to apply to yourself the appropriate rank, say, site admin, or clan leader, or Jaba The Great, if you like. The same applies to your moderators. Their names will be indicated as moderators on the main forum page, but under their names, there will be the usual rank you apply according to their posts.

Yeah, it worked, and I figured out where to set it right after I wrote the message. Groan.
