I'm trying to change my theme from the usual sans-serif font (Helvetica, Verdana) to a serif font like Times. Changing the .css changes the font in some places, but not everwhere.

My question is: Besides the style sheet, what other places control the various elements on the page, like the header, footer, blocks, etc. I could search the code and find them all by trial and error, but I'm hoping some theme experts out there could give me a head start.

Because not all themes are created equal and coders styles are unique and there are no theme coding standards, you're best bet is to just do a search and change. You will probably discover a semblance of a pattern after doing a couple.

Your forum template css settings should be the same as in your nuke theme style, otherwise the forum settings will override the theme's ones.

please note: even though Times New Roman is used by a lot of people, it's not what's known as a "Standard Font". Standard fonts are those which every PC has had for many many many years.

Now, if a client doesn't have that font, but you've selected it for your site, then you're gonna have problems because they're not gonna be able to see any of the text cause they won't have the font.

I know that with Times that's very very unlikely, but it's still not impossible. This is why sans and helvetica have been used for web sites since web sites were first being written - because Everybody has those fonts and has done since Amstrads were popular.
