activated and got sql 1054 error

i am using a official new fresh install of the 6.5 release and when i went to use my phbb i get this error when trying to start a topic

SQL Error : 1054 Unknown column 'events_forum' in 'field list'

i know it looks simple i bet, but i am lost.
