Custom Theme help: footer.

I'm new to making themes and I'm making a theme for my site Hl2planet.com. I am building this using a theme called subBlack3D as reference. I edited the footer.html file in the themes\subBlack3D\ root folder to what I wanted, but the footer didn't change.

How do I make my own footer, I saw the footer text in the Admin Preferences but im trying to construct a table like so:
