On my new theme, modules and messages don't have border images and I don' tknow which file I need to change so I can define the images to use for the borders and stuff.

It all depends on the theme, but I would try the style.css file in your theme package. It's usually located in . /themes/ 'your theme name' /style/

Yeah, that's another place to look. It's like everything else. It could be anywhere. It all depends on the author.
When I'm looking for this stuff, I use my browser and look at the source code for the HTML page - the one Nuke generates - and try to find something close to the missing border or whatever. Then I use the search feature in Windows to find where it is located in the theme package stored on my PC hard drive - the package I uploaded to my web site. It's like an easter egg hunt, you know?
Edit: Okay, chris-au, I see where you're coming from. I just read the title for the first time. I was strictly going by the first post in the thread. You would be correct. Good catch!
BTW, you can define borders in the css file[s], like the size, color, if they should be dotted, solid, blah, blah, blah. I thought that is what he was talking about.
