2.2 has been released.
Changes:
- Report broken video (mailer).
- Send to friend (mailer).
- RealPlayer media enabled
- Admin version of video adding.
- Remote video file linking (remote link would have priority over uploaded files). Great for leeching other servers bandwidth!
- Recent video block.
- Multilingual stuff. Language files will be different than that of phpNuke's format.
- Force disable wysiwyg.
- Fix random video display block and add some text.
- Fix some visual stuff in admin for blank named videos / categories.
- Add email field to general settings as there is a hardcoded address currently in the system. |

I purchased the phpnukevideo and tried it out. First, I didn't get the e-mail download link (like the other poster) that didn't arrive right away. I had to contact the owner to get it explaining I didn't get the e-mail download link like I was supposed to. After installing phpnukevideo, it broke my administration area with the famous "access denied" error. It would be nice to have the support forum on the site available cause other people likely had the same issue. The phpnukevideo module caused the error cause if I deleted the files, the admin area was ok. PHP-Nuke 7.6 was the version - a fresh install of it last week. The module needs PHP 4 and MySql 4 which I know my Web host has. I e-mailed support and haven't gotten a response in 3 days why the "access denied" error happens. To me the module seems buggy cause why would you get that particular error? For $30, I would except a FAQ list, common errors, and support forum on the Web site.
So I downloaded Video Stream from Steezmatic Designs. Easy install no problems. I'd recommend Video Stream to others. But remember to make donations to Video Stream to make sure he continues his great work. I know I'll be making my donation in appreciation.

I just purchased this module and sent them an email after not getting the immediate download link and received the module within 30 minutes.
Support is a different issue. Maybe someone can help me out that has it running.
I wanted this module so that my members can post videos. I can't seem to find another module that allows members to upload their own videos. What is happening is that I can upload videos, but when trying to stream them I am getting nothing in the player. Just a blank player.
Did anyone encounter this problem and have a fix for it. I wish their support forum was up and running, but it appears that they might not be supporting the module via the forum anymore. I hope they reply to my email support request.
Thanks!! |

I thought that was great as well. In fact better, but it appears that members cannot upload videos. It seems that only the admin can add a video. I run a sportfishing site and my members are looking for ways to upload their videos to a gallery. That is the one thing the Steezmatic version doesn't do.
I see the developer was working on a version to allow members to upload, but looks like the project went inactive last year. |

So, basically the user would have to host it somewhere and then just submit the link? That might work. Since I paid for the other I was going to give it a shot at getting to work first.
I've been working on the paid module to get it working. Maybe someone can help me now. I got it working with IE, but cannot get the video to stream with Firefox. Can anyone point me in the right direction or what to look for to make it compatible with Firefox? |

possibly it may not be compatible with firefox, not owning the module myself I can not test it to tell you.
The only one I have to test is the one I gave you the link for.
It kinda sux that there is no support for something that someone sells.
at least he could have done was put a support forum up and have a few other people to help out if he is not availible.
I will help you anyway I can, but like I said I know nothing about the nuk-video module, without seeing and testing it. |

I got this working with a lot of trial and error. It is definitely not out of the box ready to go unless you are running the same version as the creator's site.
A word of warning, there is absolutely no support for the product. I emailed the seller over a week ago a couple times and never received a reply.
Even though I got it working it is still a little buggy. I think I will end up using HTTP_video_stream as there is great support for it and it seems to be a lot less buggy. |
