Just replace the fetch.php and the modules/Downloads/index.php and you'll have the latest version. It changes the security code from a text code to an image - much less susceptible to bots. You have to have the gd2 PHP extension installed, but most hosts will, and even if you don't, it will just use the same text security code you were using before. If you don't use the security code I wouldn't worry about updating, although you might want to read the readme.1st file I forgot to include in the first package that tells you exactly what I changed. |

We've found a couple of problems on PHP-Nuke 7.6 to 7.8. I'm working on it right now, but it may be a few days before I have a satisfactory fix. The file should work for 7.9, although there may be a problem with the security code image. I'm working on a fix right now. |

Ok, JoAnne is hosting two different versions now. One for PHP-Nuke 7.6 to 7.8, and one for PHP-Nuke 7.9. If you have already installed the previous version on PHP-Nuke 7.6 to 7.8 then you need to download the new version and replace the "modules/Downloads/admin/index.php" file with the same one from the new package. If you installed the dm2 version in PHP-Nuke 7.9, then you don't need to make any changes, everything should work...
Please post if you find you have any other problems. |

I have not had a chance to add the images and uploads that I wanted to, to show what this Download Module is capable of because NYC is in the middle of a transit strike. Things are pretty messed up around here
Hopefully within the next couple of days I will have a better display of this module

I already told you, you can get the module here. That version you are talking about wasn't free, and from what I heard, didn't work so well either, and I don't know anywhere you can get it. |

Assuming you have it installed properly there are two ways you can add downloads, either from the downloads page, or from the admin page - there are two links in the admin page, one in the top block and one in the bottom block, the one in the top is for general configuration, the one in the bottom is for adding categories and downloads etc. But this is all assuming you have it installed properly.
If it still isn't working properly for you please tell me what version of PN you are using as well as exactly what you did to install the module, and I mean exactly, every step. If you aren't prepared to make the effort to tell me exactly what you did then I won't be able, or willing, to help you... |

Sorry, you are confusing me. Are you using the fixed 1.7a, or are you using the 2.1 that you bought? Also what version of PHPNuke are you running, and what do you mean when you say you can't give other admins permissions - do you mean generally, or to access the downloads admin cp, or is are you talking about something specific in 2.1? I haven't tried installing 2.1 yet, so I'm afraid I don't know all the ins and outs of it. |

Hi I am running nuke 7.9 and did download the Enhanced Downloads V2.1 from Joanns site. I have completed the install and it went smoothly. I also added the two directories and 1 subdirectory and changed permissions to 777.
My problem is when I try to upload a file, a pop-up window appears and I get this message :
"Uploading of download file cannot continue. Please contact the site administrator and report this problem"
Is there a problem with my install? I did not change any coding..... |
