Hi all Obviously I am new to nuke. I had a nice site going. I installed the admin secure and the installation went as planned. The database was created successfully, I recieved the auth. codes and recorded them. The instructions then said close the browser window and finish install instructions. I uploaded the 7.4 files provided in pakage and when I pulled site back up it blew up. You may check it at www.rivercityspas.com. I think the mainfile is the problem but I am not sure. Please help me. |

Just so I understand the situation. You had a working site, using php-nuke 7.4. You installed Admin Secure, and everything was OK. Then you installed the files included in the AS package and kerblooey!
Did you back up your original admin.php, mainfile.php and auth.php? Replace those and you'll be OK.
Rather than replace the files, I usually edit the original ones following madman's instructions. That way, I don't lose any other modifications in the process.
Also make sure you have uploaded all the files in the appropriate places. One missing file can spell disaster. |

Well, this is bad. I reinstalled the original files, "mainfile.php, admin.php, and auth.php" site is still down. Did secure admin change anything that was there? I may have to reinstall nuke to fix this lol. This is a good learning experience tho.
Thank you so much for your help. Did you get a change to look at the website and see the errors? there are many coming up.
Thank you |

Reinstalling might not be necessary. You're using Windows, and its default error settings are wacky. I found this post:
| Quote: |
Windows installations of PHP like to emit lots of Notices for undefined variable... though PHP expects and allows undefined variables *and* they are scattered throughout phpNuke code. Just turn off Notices in your php.ini file. Every php.ini file I've seen contains comments on what to do to turn off Notices.
Use a phpinfo() script to determine the location of your php.ini file if you don't know where it is.
- Virgil |
To make this script, use notepad and type and save it as info.php in your nuke site's root directory (next to mainfile.php, etc.) Then call it from a browser. It should display the location of php.ini.
Funny though how your errors just started. |

It is looking more and more like my database was changed. I checked it and it is still there along with all the new admin secure info. My site when called will not recognize the database now. Update: I got the site back, it is reading the database now. I am going to try this all again.
Thanks for all your help |

Man I feel so stupid. Sorry for taking so long to respond, I have tried everything and read everything I can find. I am soo doing something wrong. I was able to fix the site and I fixed all the errors that showed on main pages, but when I try to run asec.php I get access denied, you are not authorized to access this page. I am logged as god admin, and it wont let me in. If you have any more suggestions, I would certainly appreciate them. |

Well, I'm lost. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. I followed the instructions again after completely removing Admin Secure from my website. I went through the install step by step and when I ran the asec.php I got this message.

did you SAVE and RECORD your access CODE KEYS it gave you when installing ADMIN SECURE?....
sounds to me like you were at the page where you have to type in those access KEY CODES and you would have made it in...
YES, it makes you jump thru a couple hoops to get in even when your logged in as GOD....but you still need those KEYS |

Yes I did record and save those access keys. I did not see anywhere to type them in though. That is why I am so confused.lol
Do I just type and see nothing or should there be a place to type them in?
Thanks again |

First, you need to log off as admin. Because you currently unable to access admin panel, type this on your browser:
| Code: |
Next, run asec.php, enter those both two security codes, then (if those codes are valid and accepted) click on "God Admin Approval" button. Upon successful, try to login as admin again.
Give it a try, and let me know if you still having login problem. |
