OMG, psi, you really need to read the instructions!
Let's deal with AS 1.7 first. I hope you have those security codes handy. This advice comes from another thread:

Ok, logged out as admin, then run asec.php (or whatever the name is). Fills the correct two security codes to the given fields. if these codes valid, click on the first button, "God Admin approval". Now login as god admin and run the asec.php to the second time.
Please note, asec.php can only accessed by God admin. If due of some reasons you change your admin name (not the nickname) to anything else, you'll loose the access rights to Admin Secure. In this situation, you'll have to login as admin that can manage "Edit Authors" menu in PHP-Nuke admin panel. Create a new God admin as follows:
Nickname: [anything to non-existing nickname]
Name: God (be sure no whitespaces)
Email: [anything]
URL: [anything]
Now repeat the "God Admin Approval" steps as instructed above. Login with this new admin account to access asec.php. Sounds complicated, but necessary to protect not only the site but also the access to Admin Secure.
If you having troubles doing these and have no success, don't hesitate to ask again.
If this still doesn't help you, you may have to start all over again. Delete your nuke directory and reinstall 7.4. I heard there is some kind of superuser bug in it, so patch it before you set it up for the first time as a superuser.

First of all, be sure your site is installed and running properly. At the first time you running admin.php., you'll be prompted to create first administrator account (God admin). Follows the directions until you able to login as admin and can access administration panel.
After spend few hours (or days) playing around with your new site (such as modify site message, create or install new blocks and modules, etc) and familiarize yourself with your own website, it's the time to install security addons. As always, three basic rules applies here: backups, backups, and backups.

I recommend to install Protector System first, and be sure you configure Protector properly, do some tests, etc. Second and third may either of Admin Secure or Sentinel.

Thanks guys. It never set my first account up as God, thats was the hole problem. So what I have done is went backwards uninstalled admin secure, protecter and nuke sentnial. Then after alot of searching here on these forums I some how made my account god ,Was alot of reading and confusion of posts here but I figured it out ,lol. I back up constantly threw my host cpanel ,due to when i do it with my cpanel on my site it goes to a page not found error. I think I have read it is a bug also, not to sure. So I am going to apply the patch make sure things are ok, then ill go for the protecter system and let it go for a few days like you said Madman.

LOL i thought I did but is was overwhelming for a newb, been working on this and been sick so my head isnt really to clear
So I think I'll be ok when I apply the patch. Is the *bug adding another admin and DB back a part of it ? Casue I tried to add another admin and got a blank page?and of course the DB backup problem.

I have Sentinel 2.0.2 and AS 1.7 installed right now. Can I add Protector after them? From what I see here, Protector looks like a good thing to have.
Need a opioid I currently have 7.4 and saw this on a site

Looks like allot of cool stuff in one package. Would it be worth it to change to this? or just stay with my 7.4 its just somethings don't work for 7.4 and allot of mods and stuff are available with later versions. And where on here can I look at doing a fresh install, and keeping my members and forum data? Seems like there is some much content on here every search brings up the same thing

Yes you can do that, but you'll have to modify or alter PHP-Nuke files manually, as described in readme.txt file comes with Protector System package. I recommend Protector System should be installed first because this addon require lots of modifications to PHP-Nuke files.

Nuke Platinum is worth to try. But I recommend to install this package as stand-alone installation, not as an upgrade to your current existing PHP-Nuke site to minimize conflicts and incompatibilities. Later, you can easily dump database records from your old site to the platinum, without messing the current one.

Hmm. I have just installed chatserv's 7.3 patches, and that was grueling enough. With the patches + Sentinel + AS1.7, is my site safe enough, or should I still add Protector? Sounds like a job I should do during a vacation from my regular employment.
Oh in the DB......See when I created a god admin along with myself, I couldn't approve the other god. It said, accounts not syncronized or somn.
I'll try that.
EDIT: Got It, I editied it in both tables

After adding content to my website. I went back to asec.php to install the IP's for banning. When I called the asec.php I recieved the authorization page. I have copied and pasted the auth code and security key, but when i put them into the boxes on the page, it won't accept them. lol
Now what?
Is there a way to verify the auth code and security key.
I copied and pasted with notepad; was that ok?
