Another culprit has been identified! If you are getting a blank page when you try certain Administration functions, namely Edit Admins, this could very well be your cuplrit. EventCalendar 2.11 (for sure and possibly other versions) adds a column to the nuke_authors table called radminCalendarAdmin, however the code to update the INSERT SQL call in the admin/modules/authors.php file may be in error due to other mods overwriting it. Contact EventCalendar's web site for more info. Find this line

Raven, Where did you get your copy of Event Calendar from, as that bug does not appear to be in the versions we have released.
There was an earlier version that had a similar typo in the differance file although I'm not sure it was the same line as you quoted and was only there for a short time as the file was updated as soon as the error was spotted.
I will stand corrected if this has been overlooked previously but the current versions available (2.10 and 2.11) from our site don't have that bug.
BTW - there is no version 2.12 (at present) as your News article title suggests..

Yikes, that's a typo. It should have said 2.11 and in my linked article it does say 2.11. I don't have it. I have corrected at least 6 copies this week and I asked several of them to contact the author of the product. Evidently they must have grabbed it that quickly or someone else has it and is allowing access to it. I will get the News article version corrected and I will modify the content to explain that there was an error for a short time interval if that will help.
Might I suggest that the fault lies not in the Event Calendar but with the later installation of other modules that also require a modified authors.php.
I'm sure there are others but NSNGroups uses a differant authors.php file which overwrites the existing one upon upload.
The answer here (because NSN don't supply a differances file) is to re-apply the Event Calendar changes to authors.php using the supplied diffs.doc file after NSNGroups has been installed.
The bottom line is if PHP-Nuke had a proper plug & play type administration system we wouldn't have this problem.
Perhaps you could update your news article to reflect the above?

OK - I have another scenario (my fault).
In the latest version I have suggested that modifiying authors.php is not strictly required if users didn't want Event Calendar admins (this has not been optional previously).
The supplied sql file adds a radminCalendarAdmin to the database but if the user has choosen not to use the changed authors.php they will encounter that error.
Provided the user doesn't actaully want EventCalendar admins the answer here is to delete radminCalendarAdmin from the database rather than do your suggested one line change as authors.php is altered in a number of places to accommodate radminCalendarAdmin.
Sorry for the hassle, but as we have not had one bit of feedback on this error I found it rather odd that you have found so many in such a short time.
Hope this clears things up and I will edit the release files accordingly.
Thats fine, thanks Raven.
BTW - can you get these damn Invalid_session errors fixed? - It's driving me nuts..

I concur with people applying other modules like NSN groups, etc. causing the issue. I have been careful in looking for difference in the files and applying the changes that make sense. Even though I am a relative newbie to nuke, I have applied "patches" to other programs and the new people may not be aware of how this system work. I think people just install files and expect it to just work. This might get worse with the different possible forks from phpnuke. Oh well, some of us will be able to deal with it!
Thanks for all your work on this stuff!

You mean here at NC? I've griped to ZX and he turns a deaf ear not really. We're moving to a better server environment soon, so, hopefully those errors will go away, assuming that's what you are referring to.

I use and highly recommend a file comparison program (understatement) called CompareIT. To me, it is phenominal for digging out the real differences between 2 files. And it will even create diffs, unified diffs, and reports. Read my review
I altered the table and it fixed my edit admin problem. I dont need a calendar admin. But I still get a blank screen when I try to delete an event in the calendar. Any ideas?

If you deleted the column, then you hosed up the calendar module. Is that what you did? If so, put it back.
