If you install the bbtonuke forums the account module is replaced and will use the same email settings as phpbb.

http://bbtonuke.sourceforge.net/
The installation is pretty well documented as AI said it's not without its own bugs and we all expect most of these to be gone before phpnuke 6.5 "Gold" is released. Where bbtonuke will be the fefault forum included with phpnuke. |

Your SMTP server seems to be configured to allow only local users to send email, and rejects email relaying. What is the email address of the site admin in sending emails within php-nuke? I haven't seen this before, but I suspect that your SMTP server doesn't recognize the sender of the php-nuke emails as "local". |

Its ok mate I have given up on it. I have noticed a few people have email problems and not all are of the same level as you when it come to this sort of thing so my advice would be clear cocise advice.
I have done all said apart from adding a prot but that wouldnot solve the problem of getting the email to work in it present form.
The thig I am trying to do is set up a forum for Ham radio with a call sign database. If I get it right it will be huge. This looked to be the way to go but now I am not too sure.
I have tryed every possable config and never the same error always changes when i change something.
I bow to defeat and will look again when 6.****** is working.
Thanks for your time

Yeah, give it one more shot just for the heck of it... USe phpMyAdmin and look at your {prefix}_users table. Make sure that you still have a '2' under your uname in the 'user_level' column. Then delete all temp internet files, and like AI said, delete all cookies. See if it'll come up... and if it doesn't would you happen to be using the new PHP 4.3.0 that was just released? If so, you're gonna have to try a hack that just came out... |
