The development team of Mambo is celebrating what amounts to it's most significant form of recognition by the Open Source software community, after last night winning the "Best Open Source Solution" prize.

The Mambo content management system defied the bookmakers by defeating Firefox, IBM and LTSP, when being judged for the best of the best at San Francisco LinuxWorld Conference and Expo, at the Moscone Center.

I much prefer Mambo (now Joomla!) over PHP-Nuke after being a nuke admin for several years. The only reason I came across this thread was because I'm searching for PHP Nuke modules/blocks that may have been ported to Mambo or Joomla, particularly the workboard module.

There's one thing that may make me come back to Nuke - if someone can post a link of instructions that make PHP-Nuke theming just as easy or easier than Mambo (I use dreamweaver with a Mambo plugin, test against the locally-installed MSAS server then upload when finished - all this in under 10 minutes), I will gladly give them a shot. Until then Nuke is only becoming more inferior as days go by, in my opinion.

By the way, once you deal with a real CMS, you'll never consider any of these, what I call 'pre-packaged PHP websites' to be a CMS again. Documentum is a real CMS...

While we do appreciate the discussion, I don't think this really helps anymore.

Everyone should find a CMS suitable to their needs.
I find Mambo is good interface, but it hard to code tweak.

At any rate, we'll let people discuss Mambo on Mambo's site Smile
