This is ever so strange.
I have on a site safe_mode = ON (hosting)
running PhpNuke 6.0 and my_eGallery (not this one to 6.5) and there is NO problem to upload images.
And on another host site I have Safe_mode = On running PhpNuke 6.5 and try this My_eGallery 2.7.9 for phpnuke 6.5
and now I can't upload.
why? Is there some new secure in 6.5 for that?

I have no idea on whats going on... frusterated to say the least.
all files under admin/modules/gallery are chmod to 666
the folder modules/my_egallery/gallery is chmod to 777
safe mode is off
i deleted all gallery related tables and re-added them.
when i didn't get the "Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/colexusclub.com/httpdocs/db/mysql.php on line 117" message, i was able to create a directory. unfortunately, my_egallery said that it couldn't be created and thusly, didn't update the tables. it was able to create it with safe mode off also.
i don't get that 30 second error when accessing other parts of the module that access the database. just creating a new category and edit existing media.

Ok, well, since no one is talking about a solution i'll post what i've found so far.
i was able to create a category by removing ALL text that wasn't a letter. so all apostraphes, slashes, dashes were removed and i was able to create the category.
now the problem that i'm having is that it won't let me upload image files, maybe something to do with the period in the filename? not sure yet.
