I have been scouring this forum to find something on recieving email, but can only find problems with sending.
My nuke site is on a Linux server being hosted by a company, I have the following in my preferences

Let your users send e-mail? Yes
Let users send attachments? No
Attachments temporal directory: /var/www/html/modules/WebMail/tmp/
Let users view/read attachments? No
Received attachments temporal directory: modules/WebMail/attachments/

Max. number of accounts: -1
Is this service based in a single account? No Default Single Account Name: default@amnclan.co.uk (a mail address i set up myeslf in the host control panel)

Default POP3 Mail Server: mail.amnclan.co.uk
Default mailbox images path: modules/WebMail/images
Filter header when forward? Yes

The settings for my mail on host are as follows

POP3 (incoming) Hostname: mail.amnclan.co.uk
SMTP (outgoing) Hostname: Provided by your ISP
Username: The full email address
Password: As you have specified
